Templates for the Win

If you plan your schedule on a weekly basis, there’s 168 hours to account for. And yes, while there’s about 56 hours taken up for sleeping, that’s still 112 waking hours to fill however you’d like. That’s a lot of choices and decisions and variables, and sounds like hard work. And we know our brains would rather avoid that, thank you very much.

So how do we make it easier? By significantly narrowing the hours we choose from.

Think about the last time someone offered “any time or day next week” as their availability for an appointment. Not helpful, right? It’s a lot easier if the person gives two or three options (or better yet, offers a link to Calendly so you can skip the scheduling back and forth entirely!)

The same thing goes for your scheduling with yourself: limit yourself to a set of hours. Make them recurring, if possible.

Inspired by my Life Coach School teacher, Lauren Cash, I set up a template for my weekly calendar, so I know when to schedule things. A picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at my template here*!

This template is informed by my own energy highs and lows, when I am most focused, and most importantly when and how often I get hungry.

Want to create your own template based on your preferences and desires? I’d love to help. Book a free call with me to learn more.

*I made this template during the pandemic. It worked, for a while. Let me know if you’re curious how it’s morphed over time!
